Overview

The New Zealand government’s Ministry of Primary Industry’s (MPI) Interim Post-Entry Quarantine (IPEQ) facility is located in Auckland. The new IPEQ facility consists of offices, laboratory space and a mezzanine headquarters plant room, connected to 12 greenhouse pods by an enclosed corridor. The laboratory space and greenhouse pods are designed and constructed to meet MPI's PEQ L3B containment cabin standards.

Our Solution

The 12 greenhouse pods, buffer rooms, control room headquarters and other areas of the project all required independent air supply and zone regulation to meet the laboratory and greenhouse pod room fresh air and temperature control requirements. HUBER & RANNER provided our high-performance Y-50 Y-CASE AHU’s to the project.
The pod AHU’s do not occupy the greenhouse space and are installed in the outdoor area, requiring supply of outdoor-type units to ensure long-term weather protection.

Design Points

High-efficiency EC fans save energy and allow easy control
Shared hot and cold coils effectively reduce equipment space requirements while achieving winter and summer function switching
Adjusting the inlet and outlet positions (top, end or back of the unit) according to the on-site equipment location layout to facilitate on-site duct connection
On-site assembly of unit parts in areas with limited on-site installation channels to meet on-site installation requirements
Outdoor-type units are designed to be rainproof and UV-resistant
