Overview

Wakefield Hospital, established in 1929, is a proud member of Evolution Healthcare, the leading private surgical service provider in Wellington, New Zealand. This project included the renovation of the surgical operating theatre area building at the hospital.

Our Solution

HUBER & RANNER was responsible for providing 14 air handling units for 7 operating rooms, endoscopy, sterilization supply center, sterile warehouse, ICU/HDU, catheter room, wards and other areas of the hospital building. Except for the AHU’s servicing the lobby area on the first floor, which are installed in the machine room on the first floor, all other units are installed on the second floor and the top floor.

Design Points

High-efficiency EC fans reduce energy consumption
Co-location of supply and exhaust units effectively utilizes available on-site space
Plate-type energy heat recovery device is equipped with bypass damper to achieve energy-saving
On-site assembly of AHU’s in areas with limited on-site access
Off-site pre-connection of fan power supply and control cables simplifies on-site electrical wiring construction
