Introduction

Chilled beams leverage water-based cooling and heating to regulate indoor temperatures efficiently. Unlike traditional variable air systems, chilled beams adjust to varying heating and cooling demand by modulating the supply of heating/chilled water to the coil inside the chilled beam, while the supply of fresh air is maintained consistent. In active chilled beams, such as the LUFT-BEAM series, the supply of fresh air to the unit induces a recirculation of the air in the room, with the recirculating air passing over an internal coil. In this way, the heating and cooling needs of each zone can be met, while fresh air supply rate can be optimized to IAQ requirements, rather than heating/cooling demand. The overall result is optimal thermal comfort with minimal energy usage.

LUFT-BEAM chilled beams provide seamless integration into modern building and HVAC system designs. With intelligent air distribution and Coanda effect optimization, they ensure efficient air mixing without drafts or hot spots. Their low-profile design reduces ducting requirements, decreases HVAC footprint, and optimizes building height usage by reducing plenum height requirements in comparison to variable air systems. The LUFT-BEAM series is designed for easy maintenance, featuring easily accessible coils and filter-free design. Available in both side-ejection and downwards-ejection models, the installation location can be optimized throughout the building to ensure optimum comfort at all locations, ensuring no temperature gradients or uncomfortable drafts. LUFT-BEAM chilled beams use water-based heat exchange to achieve higher energy efficiency compared to conventional HVAC systems, significantly reducing overall power consumption.

EPP Casing

Designed for lightweight handling and installation as well as enhanced thermal insulation, our EPP casing option provides a unique product positioning, allowing the adoption of low temperature chilled water where chilled beams have traditionally been limited to higher temperature chilled water due to condensation risks.

Integrated Drain Pan

Unlike most chilled beams, LUFT-BEAM chilled beams are designed with integrated drain pans that allow them to discharge any condensation water, allowing the use of low temperature chilled water, increasing cooling capacity and reducing system costs.

Low Noise Operation

With no internal fans or moving parts, LUFT-BEAM chilled beams operate almost silently, enhancing indoor comfort in sensitive environments like hospitals and offices.

Coanda Effect Air Distribution

Advanced design ensures optimal air ejection and space distribution through the Coanda Effect, preventing uncomfortable drafts and maintaining a stable temperature throughout the occupied space.
