Overview
This project was an expansion project of the existing fever clinic and negative pressure isolation ward of Shanghai First People's Hospital. To cope with the isolation treatment of COVID-19 patients, the negative pressure ward was required to have 100% fresh air supply and full exhaust. Strict design requirements were in place to accurately control the indoor air temperature, humidity, and cleanliness, and meet the air purification capacity required to ensure sufficient sterile airflow.
Our Solution
Considering the high energy demand placed by the 100% fresh air design requirement, HUBER & RANNER designed a three-coil run-around coil energy recovery system that is both energy-saving and completely cross-contamination-free. Through energy recovery on the exhaust side and energy transfer through the pump control station, the fresh air is pre-cooled or pre-heated. After the main cooling coil which completes dehumidification in summer months, the KVS reheat coil can provide additional free re-heating energy, thereby achieving further energy-saving effects.
Design Points
Outdoor-type units with weatherproof design; |
The fresh air units and the exhaust air units have one fan section for use and one for backup to guarantee operation. |
A high-efficiency 3-coil KVS energy recovery system was used to save energy, and the energy saving energy can be monitored in real time by using industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions; |
Strict control of the air velocity in the AHU to ensure optimal heat exchange efficiency; |
